Artemis Fowl is twelve and a criminal mastermind from a line of masterminds. After his father’s cruise ship business fails and the cruise ship his father was traveling on is bombed the family loses a large amount of money. To try to get back most of the money lost Artemis creates a plan to capture a fairy and demand a ransom on fairy gold. But the mythical creatures are much more advanced in not only magic but technology too in a way that no one could expect. Will young Artemis restore his family’s fortune and get out of this alive or will the fairies win?
Artemis Fowl was exciting and fast paced. I really enjoyed it, as it was the perfect blend of science fiction and fantasy. This was one of those books that I think most people would enjoy, but someone who likes Sci-Fi and Fantasy books would especially like it.
