The Divergent Series: Divergent | Veronica Roth
In Beatrice Prior’s dystopian world, society is divided into five factions each dedicated to following a particular virtue: Candor-the honest, Abnegation-the selfless, Dauntless-the brave, Amity-the peaceful and Erudite-the intelligent. Every year on an appointed day each 16-year-old must make his or her decision on which faction they will serve the rest of their lives in. Beatrice is torn on whether to stay with her parents or go where she knows she belongs. Tris-as she later renames herself-makes a decision that surprises everyone including herself. But Tris has a terrible secret, one that may help her save everyone or destroy her.
This is a great page turner; you can’t stop reading! It has great plots and settings different to everyday life. I really enjoyed reading this after the Hunger Games. This is a good book to read if you enjoy action, romance, and dystopian themes. Divergent contains some mature content, so it may not be suitable for younger readers.
