Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone | J.K. Rowling
Harry Potter has been living with his Uncle Vernon, Aunt Petunia and his cousin, Dudley. His aunt, uncle and cousin have been making life as hard for him as possible, even making him sleep in a cupboard. But things begin to change when letters addressed in green ink to Harry begin arriving. Uncle Vernon and Aunt Petunia try to make the letters stop coming, but the letters find them wherever they go, until, finally, Hagrid, the groundskeeper at the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, arrives to ask Harry whether he wants to stay with his uncle and aunt or if he wants to go to Hogwarts. As soon as Harry says “yes”, he embarks on an exciting adventure filled with magic. Things at Hogwarts aren’t always what they seem, and a great evil is arising. Can Harry have the courage to face one of the most powerful and evil wizards of all time?
I really enjoyed Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. It was exciting and had high quality writing. Although it might not be the best book for all readers, it is very well written, and I recommend it to readers who like magic and adventure.
