If We Were Giants | Dave Matthews and Clete Barret Smith
Kirra lives a happy life in a dormant volcano in a near-perfect community. She and her father are some of the only people to travel Outside, where they tell tales designed to keep Outsiders away from their volcano home. But things take a devastating turn when Kirra accidentally leads the Takers to her home. The Takers destroy everything she ever knew. A river sweeps her to the land of the Tree Folk, where a boy named Luwan and his family take her in. She lives there for four years, but soon things go badly again. The Takers have returned to destroy the Tree Folk’s forest. Can Kirra overcome her past and save the Tree Folk from destruction?
If We Were Giants was a well-written book with an amazing theme. It was full of action, and I really enjoyed it, and I highly recommend it.
