The People of Sparks | Jeanne DuPrau
Lina and Doon have gone out of the city of Ember, and the other Emberites have followed them. They know almost nothing about the world though, so a village called Sparks takes them in so they can learn how to survive on their own, as long as they leave at the end of the trial period decided on. However, the Emberites feel they people of Sparks are being unfair to them, and tensions start to rise. Lina goes off on her own adventure, and when she comes back, it’s up to her and Doon to restore peace.
This book made me feel very happy when the conflict was resolved and sad while it was happening. The author did a great job with making you connect with the book!
