The Prophet of Yonwood | Jeanne DuPrau
A girl named Nickie has just traveled to the town of Yonwood with her aunt. The president of the United States says that there is probably going to be a war, but someone is Yonwood had a ‘vision’ and a sneaky person is “translating” what the prophet says and making everyone follow it. However, the rules that are being made up are making everyone unhappy. Nickie has been helping enforce the bad laws; will she find the strength to do something about it?
This is definitely not the most light-hearted book, so if that’s not really your thing, this is not a great book for you. I loved it though; I thought it ended very excellently, even if that didn’t prevent the apocalypse that the other books are after.
